Summertime temperatures are usually in the 70’s and 80’s; Lake Superior is our “natural air conditioner” and there’s seldom the need to use any other. Activities abound with “something” for everyone — golf, tennis, canoeing, boating, biking, hiking, lake, stream and charter boat fishing, swimming, agate and driftwood hunting, picnicking and much more. Visit nearby waterfalls and see the ultimate experience of nature’s powerful majesty as the snow melt of winter rushes over them. For anglers, hundreds of miles of trout streams and Lake Superior’s near-shore offer Coho Salmon, Steelhead, Lake, Brown and Brook Trout. The Black River Lodge is located on 65 acres of forests with trails leading directly to the Black River.
Autumn brings a Color Extravaganza unequaled as over 50 varieties of trees come ablaze. It’s a spectacular sight with reds, oranges, golds and yellows mixed among the many pines, spruce, balsam and hemlock evergreens. Take a ride to the top of Copperpeak and receive the full-experience of the fall color! We are nestled in the woods that prompted the Chicago Tribune to write… “Nowhere in North America, not even New England, are the colors of Autumn more vivid and memorable.”
